Artek celebrates some of the brand’s best-known designs – such as Stool 60 , the famous stool by designer Alvar Aalto – with pop posters as part of the ABC collection.

The stackable stool was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933 and combines the basic ideas of functionalism. The simple idea behind the stool – now considered a classic – is based on three curved legs and a round seat. The secret behind the success of the stool lies in the unique shape of the legs, which eventually became a trademark of the designer and his designs.

The poster of the ABC collection from Artek shows the Stool 60 in a schematic top and side view in bright colors of orange and yellow. Part of a series of iconic furniture, the stool joins Aalto’s design chronology. A timeline of the designer’s well-known designs can be found as a stylistic drawing on the lower half of the poster.
