Description
The timeless, elegant shapes of the Kiki bench by Artek come from 1960, when Ilmari Tapiovaara designed it. Kiki was such a success that it had a lasting impact on the upcoming development of the furniture design.
The bench, produced in Finland under constant quality control, consists of robust upholstery and a steel frame. Looking more closely, one can see that the steel pipe is oval, not round like most steel pipes. This skillfully gives it a completely different effect. The rest of the production is also oriented on the design, so the weld seams are impeccably processed and the high-quality lacquering provides the surprisingly light but enormously stable frame with an elegant look.
The padding of the PU foam and Dracon bench is robust, ergonomic and comfortable. The hand-crafted comfort also invites you to relax for longer.
The seemingly light Kiki bench can be integrated into many different environments and can also be used in public as well as private spaces. The Kiki collection won the golden medal at the Milan Triennale in its debut year, 1960, and counts as one of the most used pieces of furniture in public areas in Finland.
The Kiki Bench is available as a 2 or 3-seater. Different colors and fabrics or leather can be chosen.
