The K65 kitchen and bar chair was designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1937, with the company still manufacturing it today in its original form. Alvar Aalto’s designs made their way around the world and became well-known for everyone.
Like nearly every object that Alvar Aalto designed, the High Chair K65 possesses the characteristic, organic L-shape. The specific L-leg was designed and patented by Aalto in 1932. The bent birch veneer that makes Aalto’s furniture so unique was revolutionary for its time,
as the bending technique developed specifically by Aalto guarantees unmatched stability. The High Chair K65 is made from birch wood with transparent varnish. The seating surface os available with birch veneer, white laminate, red and black linoleum or upholstered with fabric or leather.The kitchen chair is delivered unassembled.
